Why can you utilise art to express your 'bull-like' emotions or intense emotions?

Understanding Bull-Like Emotions and Emotional Intensity

Bull-like emotions?

What does she even mean? You might wonder!

Well, here’s the thing. We all have emotions that are intense and filled with passion. These emotions are often hidden within us, waiting to come out.

We tend to submerge these emotions in our hearts and bodies, with the fear that they won’t be appreciated or encouraged.

Could we be wrong?

I think we can.

Many times, we ignore these emotions, feeling as though they won’t affect us. But deep down, I think they do.

I am not trying to generalise here. However, I do have to share that some personalities are high in emotional intensity and passion. I am one of them. Over the years, trauma has made me calmer.

Here, I don’t think being calm is always a positive change. However, working with art has helped me express my passion and emotional intensity.

I do believe that there is a huge difference between expressing sheer anger or resentment and expressing passion or emotional intensity. Unfortunately, both can appear the same (as though someone is venting), but they can feel very different.

When someone is angry or resentful, they may express themselves in ways that shut us down, make us feel small, or make our bodies shrink.

On the other hand, when a passionate and emotionally intense person expresses their emotions, it can feel inspiring and make us feel more human.

It compels us to forget our self-conscious ways of emoting (or not emoting) just to come across as “adult.” When we see artists or poets express themselves, they are often expressing their deepest and strongest emotions—ones that can either push people away or bring them closer :).

You may ask, what do I do with these emotions?

Well, you write, paint, or dance to express them.

Since this space is about painting, I encourage you to paint your bull-like emotions.

If you’ve ever noticed a bull, they can feel heavy, masculine, aggressive, and have slender horns.

An article on bull symbolism mentions that bulls often visit us as spirit guides in dreams. They can appear as a calm presence, encouraging us to change our perspective. Bulls can also represent stubbornness, determination, confidence, and the ability to handle difficult situations. They may also bring out inner strength, willpower, and even deep desires.

We can look at our intense emotions as “bull-like”—heavy, powerful, sometimes aggressive, and waiting to emerge like the horns of a bull.

Abstract Bull Art and Expressing Deep Emotions

Here’s an abstract artwork I picked up from the internet. Let’s discuss it, shall we?

When we look at this artwork, we can see that the strokes are not linear. They make the painting feel slightly gloomy, yet they also make the bull look approachable rather than aggressive.

If we notice closely, the body of the bull appears reduced. It could also be that there is another bull beside it, with only the face visible.

The colours used are not bright, which allows the painting to tell a deeper story. This story could be about heartbreak, loss, grief, gloominess, or even just a dull day.

That’s how I interpret this painting. Your interpretation may be different or similar—it doesn’t matter.

What matters is whether you can notice the emotional intensity within the artwork.

The artist may have painted many of their bull-like emotions here—anger, resentment, sadness, or aggression. We may never know.

However, what we can recognise is that respecting our bull-like emotions can be a creative process—one that is healthy and can even look beautiful in its own way.

And you might wonder, if I embrace my bull-like emotions, would I be a bad person?

My counter-question is: if you didn’t embrace them, would you be a good person?

Or would you be someone ignoring your true emotions and different personality shades?

There is a difference.

So, it may be helpful to take some reflective time and ask yourself: what am I choosing for my bull-like emotions—expression or repression?

I hope this post helps you change your perspective about your bull-like emotions. Because the more we process them, the more “us” we become :).

Working With Me: Coaching for Sensitive and Creative People

A poster about coaching

Hello, I am Pranita Rao. I work with sensitive individuals, highly sensitive people, creatives, healers, and spiritual seekers who want a soft and private space to express themselves and understand their sensitivity without labels, heaviness, or emotional confusion.

There is no spiritual identity required. No artistic credentials required. This is a clear space to think, feel, create, and move forward.

My work combines sensitivity, art, creative expression, emotional clarity, simple structures, energy healing, angelic Reiki, intuitive reading, and guidance.

As for my experience, I have four years of experience working with angelic beings, three years of experience working with art, and I have supported many individuals by holding a grounded, honest, and safe space.

My clients learn how to regulate sensitivity, gain emotional clarity, set energetic boundaries, and make consistent decisions despite internal or external challenges.

Please note that understanding that you are highly sensitive is an important first step, but awareness alone does not create stability. What creates change is learning how to work with your sensitivity in a structured, consistent way.

In my work, I support sensitive and highly sensitive individuals through a simple and grounded framework. First, we identify how your sensitivity shows up emotionally, creatively, and energetically in daily life. Second, we build emotional clarity and regulation so you are no longer absorbing what does not belong to you. Third, we learn about your unique creative gifts and create sustainable boundaries, creative practices, and decision-making structures that support your nervous system rather than overwhelm it.

This approach helps sensitive people move from constant emotional processing to emotional steadiness, from confusion to clarity, and from self-neglect to self-trust. The intention is not to change who you are, but to help your sensitivity function as a strength rather than a source of exhaustion.

This work is designed for individuals who are ready to move beyond learning and into implementation. Sensitive people often consume a lot of information but delay applying it. My role is to provide a steady, structured space where insight turns into change.

If you are at a stage where you are no longer seeking validation but seeking regulation, direction, and results, this work may be aligned for you.

Thank you for reading, and I appreciate your sensitivity.
