It is important to know that highly sensitive people (HSPs) have gentle nervous systems that require frequent rest periods.
I find that 30 minutes of abstract art can slow down the nervous system to a point where one can connect with one's body, mind, and soul.
Often, we try to meditate to experience similar effects. However, using abstract art can be a less strenuous way to soothe one's nervous system.
Apart from quietening the mind, highly sensitive people can benefit from the gentle-feeling and gentle transformation effects of abstract art.
For us HSPs, many things and situations could be stimulating and hence, we may find these situations to be rough obstacles in our lives. It is important to remind ourselves that abstract art could be a gentle anchor for us to hold on to the good things in life.
I have found that a lot of healing modalities have been unsuitable for my nervous system. Some of them were physically painful or would make me feel even worse.
Abstract art has been the most constant gentle healing tool that has paid off.
It is like a friend that never wants to be harsh or unhelpful to me.
Would you like to experience such a friendship with your creative radar?
If yes, get in touch with me to know more.
